How to: Become a Neopian Millionaire October 29, 2009

There has to be some kind of secret, some magic spell or potion…right? I was determined to find out, so I put together a short survey, aimed at Neo millionaires. I was targeting a specific group; those with over 10 million neopoints, as well as having huge houses and shops. I was hoping for at least 100 responses, and I received 77. The survey follows, with the average answers. It surprised me, and I am sure it will surprise you!
1.) How old are you?
Average ages 18-23. Youngest responder is 17, oldest is 67.
2.) How long have you been playing Neopets?
Average is 3 years; shortest is 7 months, longest is 7 years. Several players said they leave for a while, but always come back!
3.) How many neopoints do you have?
Average 5 million.
5.) How long did it take you to become a Neo millionaire?
“A very long time” was the unanimous answer.
6.) Do you use game cheats?
Tied between yes and no. And 5 people answered “sometimes”.
7.) Which ones for which games make the most neopoints for you?
It appears to be a variation of all the games. Key Quest, Scorchy Slots, Faerie Bubbles and Destructo Match were mentioned most often, in that order. It seems there are as many favorites as there are choices!
8.) Do have a shop/store?
Everyone said YES
9.) How large is it?
Smallest was 17, largest was 3500.
10.) What’s the most expensive item you’ve ever owned/sold?
Again, all answers were different, but all could only be found on the Trading Post. Faerie Queen Doll, rare PetPets and Medicinal items were most often mentioned, in that order. Most players said they put their expensive items in their galleries.
11.) What tricks and tips would you give to newbies on becoming a Neo millionaire?
Most common answer was time and work. Play games, do dailies, and snipe on auctions were the most popular.
12.) What’s you’re favorite thing to do on Neopets and what do you spend most of your neopoints on?
The favorite things were tough to compile. There were at least as many answers as there are things to do on Neopets! As for what most players spend their neopoints on, it was home improvements, enlarging their shop, buying rare items and collectibles, training their neopet and restocking their shop.
13.) Please add any additional insight you may have to offer.
Everyone said they started just like everyone else did, but becoming a Neo millionaire can be done. It just takes time and effort.
Well, there you have it! There are no magic answers or secrets–it all depends on you and what you like to do! Whatever games you like, do them often, and get better at it to make more points. Everyone’s different–only one said they play the stock market, and quests were mentioned once. I have come to the conclusion that Neopets is what you want it to be, and with all the things to do in Neopia, you can be as rich as you want! Just do it any way you choose, and most importantly, have fun!

As you all know, in 2007 the Neopets website had gone through a huge change–it was re-designed! But it wasn’t just the site layout that changed, but the actual Neopets themselves, the fact you can dress them, as well as new activities and parts of the site, and the ability to buy neopoints, or Neocash. This is old news to most of you, but important and interesting news to those who have haven’t been playing on Neopets for a long time, like me. So I’ve put up a new page on the basics of the new site re-design, under the “Neopets Tips” page. The link is at the top of the page, and is called “Neopets New Site Change”. As you’ve probably noticed, Neopets now offers a system where you can buy neopoints with real money. This is the kind of thing the website Stardoll.com had originally, and it proved to be just a way to get your money, like a scam. But not like a scam where you won’t get your points, because I’m sure you would because Neopets is a trustworthy site of course, but where they’re just trying to get your money any way they can. Or in this case, your parent’s money. Remember, REAL money is MUCH more valuable than virtual money, so don’t fall for this. Earn your points if it’s that important to you (using all my guides and cheats on my site of course!), but just don’t spend real dollars on it.

‘Tis the season! The season for the advent calender! For those of you who are newbies, the advent calender on Neopets is in Happy Valley on Terror Mountain, and gives away a free amount of neopoints and items every day, but only once per person…or should I say, account 
So, make sure you visit it every day of the month of December. But remember, hold onto your items and don’t sell them just yet…since millions of other people on Neopets have just got the same items as you, they won’t be worth anything much in the shop wizard. So save them for a little while, or at least until December ends before selling them, to make the most profit.

What would you first guess as the MOST popular neopet? Well I know my favorite was always the Cybunny, but you can’t get one unless you get a morphing potion, so ofcourse not many people will have that one. But what neopet do you think would be most appealing to everyone, including boys and girls (or else it might be a Uni! Or in the opposite case, a Jetsam, maybe)? You’re probably really wondering now, so, I’ll just tell you. Well, it turns out the SHOYRU is the most popular neopet of all! Personally I wouldn’t have thought that one would be the most liked, but hey, each to his own. And can you guess the runner-up? It’s a Kougra! Now that’s always been one of my favorites too, so to me that’s not too much of a surprise…

It’s pretty handy for completing all the levels! So, this is how it works: whenever you fire your ball at any gnome wearing a red hat, it will create another tiny extra ball that goes on to the finish line, which will complete you the level just like a regular ball would when it touches it. And at the same time you can still keep firing your main ball all over! So it’s just every time you hit a red-hatted gnome, that an additional little red ball will be created. So say you keep hitting red-hatted gnomes over and over again on a particular level, it will keep making more and more tiny red balls, which will eventually touch the finish line and win the level! And then all the other tiny balls you also created that level, will still be there in the following level! They don’t disappear! Plus they will pass right through other gnomes; they won’t bounce off! So, to see this weird but wonderful glitch at work, just play the movie below!
P.S. I think the glitch might only work on macs.

But I’m not sure if it was just a coincedence. I clicked on it, and it said I had won 2,500 neopoints and a greeble from the fruit machine!!! But was it just a coincidence, or does it actually work? I need everyone to try it theirselves, and to tell me if they won or not. I think this might be a major discovery!!!

Sorry this is a bit late, but hey, it’s better late than never! The advent calendar is now giving away free items and neopoints everyday this month!

Make sure you try and visit as often as you can, but don’t sell the stuff right away, because it won’t sell for much since everyone has just gotten the same exact things for free too, so make sure you hold on to those till next year!
Tip: A good cheat is to do the advent calander on your other accounts then send the items to your main account, and transfer the neopoints. Ok, you’re proabably thinking “transfer neopoints? how do you do that???”. Well a trick I often use is:
1) First see how many neopoints total are in the account with the money you want to transfer, then go into your main account’s shop stock, and price something that’s usually really cheap (like pile of dung, or a mossy rock) the total ammount of money that your other account has.
2) Then go back into your other account, go to your main account’s shop from there, and buy the overpriced, ‘usually-one-neopoint’ item for the exact ammount of money that you have in total!
3) And voila! All your other account’s money is now in your main account’s shop till! And without having to buy a whole bunch of items and sending them one by one to your main account! Simple, easy, and pure. And remember to then put it all into your bank account so it goes towards making yourself more interest.

Hey everyone! This is extremely exciting! I just got a SUPER RARE item from Neopets, for FREE! It’s a Soup Faerie Doll! You know, the ones that are sold in Fyora’s Hidden Tower! Selling for 1,000,000 neopoints! Maybe it’s the only one in Neopia, because no one else is selling one in the auctions! So, it’s on Auction RIGHT NOW, only for a limited time! I think I probably could’ve sold it for more though, but it’s too late, the auction’s all ready up and running. So, if you’re a neopian millionaire, and looking for a profit, you better be quick and buy this limited rare item, and then you’ll be able to sell it for more than that. Like 1,500,000. I should’ve done that, but oh well. Lucky for you though!
So, I bet you’re wanting to know just how exactly I got this Super Rare item! Well, as I’m sure everyone is very familiar with, the referral program. Just go to the “Neopets-link to us” page and you can see the prizes you get for each amount of referrals. For thoses who do not understand how this whole “referral” thing works, it’s when you invite or encourage other people to sign up at Neopets, by giving out a link, or displaying a banner on your site, or whatever, which leads to Neopets.com signup page, under your name, so you get credit for it. Each time you get more people signing up, you get free prizes, which appear in your inventory. But you have to be fair. You can’t make fake accounts, by going to that link, and signing up just so you get credit. Like I for instance, have just purely encouraged people to play on Neopets on my site, without cheating or anything. It’s a great way to share Neopets, plus you get lots and lots of awesome free stuff. So I reccomend this for everyone. If you have a website, put some referral banners on it. It’s completely honest, it’s not anything like saying “you’ll get a free paintbrush if you click on this link!” Because that is just abusing it. So, to start out YOUR referral programme, and make a step towards being a Neopian millionaire, click here to go to the different banners you can put on YOUR site, and your referral link to share with friends and the world.
