The Money Tree August 30, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : All Posts , add a commentThe Money Tree. What is it exactly? Sure. It looks like The Giving Tree from Shel Silverstein, but what does it really do?
The Money Tree is basically the place where unwanted items go. Usually from Underwater Fishing, old boots, fishing poles, moss, and shoes end up here. There’s also the occasional bag of Neopoints, and very rarely a paintbrush or a rare item usually given by a VERY generous Neopian who has no gain from it (meaning, he or she might want to quit or they just don’t need it).

As soon as you see the item you want, IMMEDIATELY click it. And you have to be as fast as you can. You might not get the item, because someone might have clicked it before you, but if you do get it, congratulations
You’re a stealthy ninja!
Here are some donators to The Money Tree:
Balthazar – Every Wednesday, at 7 A.M. Neopian Standard Time (NST), Balthazar donates bottled faeries, each going for around 3,000-4,000 NP a bottle!
Health Frog – At 7 A.M. NST every day, the Health Frog will donate 10-200 different exotic vegetarian fruits.
The Lupe Pack – Every Sunday at 5:50 P.M. NST the Lupe Pack will donate items. These are usually white or dark chocolate Chias.
Pango Pango – At 10:45 AM and 10:45 PM, Pango Pango might donate fruits.
Scamander in Chef – Scamander in Chef donates Scamanders; and they’re very hard to catch.
Tombola :) August 29, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : All Posts , 2 commentsThere’s a game called Tombola on Mystery Island. It is also a daily. The rules are fairly simple; just click spin, and you’re good to go. Prizes are random. You could get a booby prize which is worth less than 1 NP, or you could get some codestones, paintbrush, or a bottled faerie. Keep in mind that getting a paintbrush or a codestone is rare, so if you always get a booby prize, don’t feel bad, at least you got something!
Here are the booby prizes:

Paintbrushes:

Bottled Faeries:

Gross Food:

And of course the codestones
:

(These are the only kind you can get from Tombola. There are 5 other ones, but there are other ways of getting them.)
The Lever of DOOM August 28, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : All Posts , 4 commentsYou know that weird handle thing at the Virtupets Space Station? The one where you just pull the lever and usually nothing happens.

If you’re an avatar collector, go for it, and when you get the avatar, just don’t do this daily anymore. There’s not really much else you can get after getting the avatar.
To get the avatar, you have to pull down the lever and get at LEAST 100 NP taken from you. If you have less than 50 NP on hand, or nothing at all, the lever won’t do anything. And even if you lose those 100 NP, the avatar is random when getting your NP taken, so don’t expect to get the avatar the first time. You could get it the first time, or even after 200 times. It all is random, so don’t expect much.
Here’s a picture of the avatar.

Chia Pops! August 27, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : All Posts , 2 commentsSo there are things called Chia Pops on the Neopets Website. What are Chia Pops? What do they do to my pet? What if my pet isn’t a Chia? Can I still make my pet transform that way?
No. Unfortunately, Chias are the only Neopets species that can change with Magical Chia Pops (hence the names of “Magical ________ Chia Pop”). Chia Pops will only change your pet if they are MAGICAL Chia Pops. So if you want an Grape Chia, you can’t really change it with just a simple Grape Chia Pop; it needs to be a MAGICAL Grape Chia Pop.
Here is a list of what your Chia can look like with a Magical Chia Pop:

Lutari Beads August 24, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : All Posts , 3 commentsOn any Neopets profile, there’s something called a Lutari Talisman in the Trophies section. But unfortunately, most of us don’t have any beads. But there are ways you can get Lutari Beads for your talisman. In most cases they can be acquired from a trades or auctions. Since each one is about 200k apiece, you can’t really find them for sale in shops. NEVER and I repeat NEVER buy a Lutari Bead at 300k. Someone is just trying to rip you off.
The beads themselves look like this:

If you guys can’t see, from the left: Matu, Oranu, Ranka, Urapa, and Tongi. Each of them come in 4 different colors; red, green, yellow and blue.
These beads can me found randomly on the Neopets website, signing up for Neopets Mobile, or by referring someone to Neopets Mobile. Keep in mind that there are 5 different types of beads. Since there’s no more Neopets Mobile (when the new Neopets layout came out), the Tongi bead can’t be found anymore
Each one has it’s own ability (I’ll write it in another post so the post won’t be too long!) and they can all be attached to the talisman via your Inventory

Codestone Guide August 19, 2010
Posted by Ashley in : Neopets Help , add a commentEver wonder what codestones are? You see them in the shops for around 3k-5k each all the time, but what exactly are these stones for? Where do they come from? How do you get them?
There are ten different types of codestones; Bri, Har, Mau, Vo, Eo, Orn, Zei, Main, Mau, and Tai-Kai. Typically, all of these are listed around 3k-5k but the Bri Codestone is usually the cheapest around 3k.
From left to right:
First Row: Mau, Tai-Kai, Lu, Vo, and Eo.
Second Row: Main, Zei, Orn, Har, and Bri.

These are used at the Mystery Island Training School. The Mystery Island Training School is used for training your Neopet for the battledome. These can be obtained by buying, random Neopet events, as well as Tombola (if you’re a winner). An alternative to using codestones is using dubloons (which can be found in a different post) to train your pet at Krawk Island.
Here’s a table on the courses you can take at the Mystery Island Training School:
| Course Type | Neopet Level | Cost | Length |
| Grasshopper | 20 and Under | 1 codestone | 2 hours |
| Basic | 21-40 | 2 codestones | 3 hours |
| Intermediate | 41-80 | 3 codestones | 4 hours |
| Adept | 81-100 | 4 codestones | 6 hours |
| Advanced | 101-120 | 5 codestones | 8 hours |
| Expert | 121-150 | 6 codestones | 12 hours |
| Master | 151-200 | 7 codestones | 18 hours |
| Grand Master | 201-250 | 8 codestones | 24 hours |

Neopets Scams and Scam Sites February 6, 2010
Posted by Chloe in : All Posts,Neopets Help,Neopets Hints and Tips,Site News , 8 commentsFirst, no matter what, for absolutely NO reason, under NO circumstances whatsoever, EVER give your password to ANYONE for ANYTHING at any time.
Neopets will NEVER ever ask for it, so know right off the bat anyone who does is up to no good and trying to scam you. TNT can freeze your account without you knowing – why would they ever need your password? That having been said, here are some places where scams can be found:
• Neoboards. Yep. Right at the heart of where we find information, ask questions, and communicate with other players.
• Neomail. Offers for free items or Neopoints if you visit a webpage, usually has a link.
• User Shops. Who can resist a super low price? Beware. Malware or Cookie Grabbers may be present.
• User lookups, Pet pages. Malware and CGs are a constant threat.
And in the comments on this site! It is FULL of people telling you to send your username and password to them so they can steal your account. THESE ARE ALL SCAMS.
To read more, go to my page on Neopets Scams and Scam Sites and how to spot them and keep your account safe.
