I keep hearing things about how Neopets is “stealing” our money, or how the NeoCash thing is a “scam.” It seems like any time someone asks for money these days, people immediately scream “SCAM!”

Think about it, guys. Neopets is a HUGE site with TONS of content, and they have a PAID STAFF that runs it every day. They have to have some kind of financial support. I, for one, am just thankful that they don’t run tons of outside ads all the time, or have pop-ups.

The NeoCash deal is a way for them to directly support the site. They ARE a business, after all, and their revenue has to come from somewhere.

And, like I’ve said, you don’t have to buy the NeoCash. You can just keep playing (it’s FREE!) for your neopoints and such. Just have fun and don’t worry so much about the stuff you don’t want or can’t have.

Neopets is still FREE to play, and you can earn points without paying real cash for them, so if you don’t want to spend money on NeoCash, then don’t! There is an ad floating around the site, and if you click on it, you’ll get 150 free NeoCash dollars (the ad will say something about free NeoCash). I clicked on it, got mine, and got a couple of things with it. I don’t, however, plan to spend any real money on the game!

So for those worrying about the whole NeoCash deal, don’t worry so much. I don’t pay any attention to it, and I’m still having fun with everything else. And hey, if you want to make some good neopoints, pick out some games you can do really well, figure out the minimum score you need to get 1,000 points, then play those games 3 times a day and you’ll get 3k for every game you play! I get at least 20k every day just playing games!

Sites like this and others will help you figure out different games, show you where the freebies are, and so forth. Just be smart about it, put your bank and shop to good use, and you’ll do just fine!
